Farm Bureau Meeting in Carrollton Will Focus on Land Leases
The Daily Jeffersonian reports that the Ohio Farm Bureau Federation (OFBF) will sponsor a series of special briefings exploring older lease issues and options.
"Long-term energy demand and new drilling technology have sparked heightened oil and gas exploration in the Marcellus and Utica Shale deposits throughout eastern and central Ohio," said Dale Arnold, OFBF director for Energy, Utility and Local Government Issues. "Communities are experiencing rapid growth, resource competition and potentially large inflows of bonus, land rental and royalty payments -- Welcome to the boomtown."
