Only 1 New Permit Issued During Holiday Week

The Ohio Department of Natural Resources released its latest weekly update on Utica shale permitting last week, and it revealed a very slow week.

Only 1 new permit was issued.  It was to XTO Energy for the Schnegg Unit C 5H well in Belmont County.

The ODNR reports new cumulative totals of 1,386 wells permitted, 942 wells drilled, 472 wells producing, and a Utica rig count of 44.
