Rice Energy President Addresses St. Clairsville Rotary

The oil and gas industry and its impact on the area highlighted Tuesday's meeting of the St. Clairsville Rotary. Toby Rice, president of Rice Energy, was invited to speak about his company's origins and interest in the area. 
Rice was introduced by Robert "Coach" Rikeman of Rice Energy and Belmont County Commissioner Ginny Favede, who noted the commissioners' support. Rice Energy has signed two leases with Belmont County. 
"They are going to be responsible for pumping an enormous amount of money into this county. The signing bonuses alone equaled over $7 million, and it is a tremendous opportunity to take this county forward," said Favede. 
Favede spoke about Rice's athletic career and proclivities, which was evident in his company's sponsoring of the St. Clairsville football stadium scoreboard and East Ohio Regional All Star Baseball Team. 
"They invest in our community," she said.
