Cabot Appeals $4.2-Million Verdict in Dimock, PA Water Case

From FrackNation:
Cabot Oil and Gas have lodged an appeal against the Dimock Water trial verdict which saw two families being awarded $4.2m against the company.
The Ely and Hubert families claimed Cabot had caused a nuisance to their property by their drilling and fracking for gas.
In the appeal papers just lodged at the federal court in Scranton, Pennsylvania, the company alleges the verdict, which was a surprise to many court observers, was as a result of “repeated misconduct” by Leslie Lewis, the plaintiffs' attorney. They also claimed that even without the attorney's misconduct, there was no evidence that their activities caused any damage to the families.
They further claimed that even if any damage was judged to have happened, the amount awarded was excessive and should be reduced to no more than $85,000.
