Drilling Opponents Present Petition to Block Drilling in Wayne National Forest
From Kallanish Energy:
Opponents of drilling in the Wayne National Forest in southern Ohio have presented a petition with 92,000 signatures to the U.S. Bureau of Land Management (BLM).
The petition was presented to federal officials in Washington on Nov. 14, Kallanish Energyreports.
A formal protest against the Ohio drilling was also filed by a coalition of eco-groups, including the Ohio Environmental Council, Sierra Club, Friends of the Earth, the Center for Biological Diversity and Heartwood.
“This will be bad for wildlife, bad for recreation and bad for the health of Ohio’s only national forest,” said Nathan Johnson of the Ohio Environmental Council, in a statement. “Ohioans don’t want heavy industrial development on their public lands.”Click here to continue reading.
